We went to Roaring Brook in the early morning then climbed to Chimney Pond (elev. 2900 ft)  hoping to continue on to the top of Katahdin.  However, the weather had closed in making the trip to the top impossible.  Instead some of us climbed to the Pamola caves, then back to Chimney Pond and down to Roaring Brook.  A quick trip to Sandy Pond to look for Moose ended the day before returning to our camp at Katahdin Stream Campground.
